Art as Ruin, A Model for Rehabilitation
Contemporary Art Center of Huarte, Navarra
Contemporary Art Museum of Alicante, MACA

This project explores art as a process of ruin and recovery, not only of objects but also of meanings and significants that have been subjected to the wear of time and decontextualization. Instead of restoring objects or narratives to keep them static, it proposes the rehabilitation of forms, space, and memory, as a process of reconstruction that is constantly reconfigured through the interaction of the audience and visual narratives. This can be understood through Walter Benjamin’s ideas, who speaks of the “aura” of works of art and its relationship with the historical and social context¹⁹.
